🚛 Drivers Weekly Meeting – Week 19 Recap

📚 Topic: Chapter 2 – Road Pavement Markings
“Gabay sa mga guhit sa kalsada para sa mas ligtas na biyahe”

This week’s session focused on the importance of road pavement markings — the lines, symbols, and signs painted on roads that guide traffic, warn of hazards, and enforce rules. These markings work hand-in-hand with traffic signs and lights for safer roads.

🛣️ A. Longitudinal Lines

  • Center Line – Divides lanes of opposite directions

  • Lane Line – Separates same-direction lanes

  • Barrier Line – No overtaking on solid lines (especially double yellow)

  • Edge Line – Boundary of the road

  • Continuity Line – "Mag-merge ka na!"

  • Transition Line – Used near bridges, junctions, and islands

🚦 B. Traverse Lines

  • Stop Line – Stop here at red lights or STOP signs

  • Give Way Line – Dashed lines for yielding

  • Pedestrian Crossing – Zebra lines for safe crossing

  • Roundabout Holding Line – Yield line for rotundas

🚧 C. Other Markings

  • Turn Lines, Loading/Unloading Bays, Bus Lanes

  • Yellow Box – Do not block intersections

  • Parking Bays – Properly designated parking spots

🟡 D. Object Markings & Raised Pavement Markers

  • Traffic Cones, Barriers, and Cat’s Eye reflectors

⚠️ E. Special Markings

  • Chevron patterns, rumble strips, curb colors

  • Bicycle, motorcycle, and bus lanes

  • Arrows and speed limits painted directly on the road

✅ Reminder:

"Hindi lahat ng gabay ay nasa sign — minsan nasa ilalim lang ng gulong mo."
Let’s read the road beneath us — and drive safely!
